Adult learners often return to education with a specific goal in mind, e.g. to learn to use computers, to get qualifications for work, to meet new people or to gain a specific new skill. Whatever their original incentive to learn, it is important for learners to reassess their goals regularly to determine to what extent they are being met and if they have altered in any way as a result of their learning experience. The process of learning and the learning environment can introduce new possibilities that people hadn’t previously considered.
