The South Africa Youth Project is an initiative by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). It aims to increase the involvement of youth in decisions that affect their lives and development. Youth have a wealth of experience, knowledge and skills that can be used for social change. The project has already achieved significant success in its work across multiple sectors and countries since its inception in 1996. Its track record speaks for itself: 39 million youth out of all age groups are directly engaging with UNDP programmes around the globe.

With youth unemployment at a staggering 60 percent, there’s never been a greater need for sustainable employment. But before large-scale development projects can come to fruition, they require trained and skilled workers.
Southern Africa Youth Project (SAYP) is working in partnership with global partner, WRS Global Solutions to make this possible by providing young people with the skills and experience that will place them on the map. Through a combination of on-the-job training and classroom instruction, students are developing real-world job skills that translate directly into future employment opportunities.
