When it comes to retaining talented employees, there’s no shortage of opinions out there. But a new initiative is looking to change that. The Southern Africa Youth Project (SAYP), a part of Brand South Africa, has partnered with leading companies in the region to finance leaders who aspire to create a sense of belonging and activate growth through digital technologies.

Most people understand the importance of creating a work environment that welcomes everyone, no matter their gender or background. Teenagers are also increasingly eager to join teams and contribute, so why not provide them with an opportunity? Through SAYP, these leaders can take their skills one step further and help their companies succeed in the modern workplace.

When it comes to attracting digital talent, companies understand the importance of a competitive and attractive salary package. However, creating a sense of belonging and letting employees feel valued is equally important.

A new study by Southern Africa Youth Project has revealed that the key to retaining digital talent is creating a sense of belonging in the workplace. S A Youth Project surveyed 1,000 employees across major businesses in order to get an idea of how they feel about their employer. The survey asked participants questions on various factors like job satisfaction, engagement, retention etc., and came up with some interesting data points. For instance, more than half of the respondents said that they want to work for their chosen employer for 3-5 years at least, and 29 percent are open to changing jobs if necessary.

This speaks volumes about employees’ commitment towards the organization that has given them so much in return! This study reinforces that employers need not look any further for those who can help turn a company’s fortunes around – these leaders have what it takes to make things happen for their team!
