Don’t let education be a casualty of poverty. Southern Africa Youth Project is out to change that perception. The non-profit organization works with schools in South Africa and has helped impart literacy skills to more than 200,000 students so far. With its unique approach of pairing local volunteers with high school students, Southern Africa Youth Project encourages the latter to join hands with them for various joint initiatives that involve reading and learning.
One such example is the ‘Southern Africa Youth Project Book Club’ initiative wherein an online community forum – http://Southern Africa Youth Project.online – was created on which volunteers can post their favorite reads and ask for recommendations from other members.
