Southern Africa Youth Project supports and implements the Sustainable Development Goal 1 in partnership with Government Departments, Non-Profit Organisations in Tanzania.

Southern Africa Youth Project implements the following work in Tanzania:

  • Providing nutritional meals to young people participating in our No Poverty programmes in Tanzania.
  • Working with non-profit organisations and government departments in working on creating new food sources in addressing the No Poverty Goal
  • Providing training for people and entrepreneurs in Tanzania on sustainable farming.
  • Training the youth and entrepreneurs on the implementation of Aquaponic Fish Farming in Tanzania.
  • Promotion of entrepreneurs to go into Aquaculture Fish Farming as a means for increased food production in the country to eliminate No Poverty.
  • Empowerment and Consulting to the departments, municipalities and institutions of government in Tanzania on No Poverty.
  • Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting on No Poverty in Tanzania.

The Government of Tanzania is constantly looking for solutions to ensure that Tanzania achieves. Southern Africa Youth Project is taking a lead in supporting Tanzania to achieve the Zero Hunger Goal:

Our involvement with Tanzania has been but not limited to:

  • Southern Africa Youth Project provides capacity building and training for the employees of Government Departments, Non-Profit Organisations and business sector in Tanzania.
  • Southern Africa Youth Project supported the government of Tanzania in development of support systems for National, Provincial government in Tanzania to monitor hunger in Tanzania.
  • Southern Africa Youth Project supports the government of Tanzania in the development of a Database System to monitor each province and district.
  • Southern Africa Youth Project support for Agricultural Departments in implementing strategies for addressing no hunger.
  • Southern Africa Youth Project provides reporting for the government of Tanzania in their Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning efforts on Zero hunger.

Listing the government of Tanzania priorities:

  • Southern Africa Youth Project will support the Government of Tanzania by 2030 to end hunger for all people. We focus a lot on infants, children and youth ensuring that they have access to nutritious meals all year round.
  • Southern Africa Youth Project supports the government of Tanzania in ending malnutrition. Ensuring that they align their targets to the international targets set at the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals targets.
  • Supporting the government of Tanzania to achieve the 2030 goal to increase agricultural productivity and to increase the income of small scale food producers. Strengthening their support to ensure that women and youth have an interest in agriculture to increase local production and support.
  • Southern Africa Youth Project supports the sustainable food production systems by sharing the lessons, monitoring and evaluating the current production systems by ensuring that Tanzania adapts to new ways of farming. To eliminate the effects of droughts, extreme heat, climate change, flooding and other disasters such as earthquake and water flooding.
  • Southern Africa Youth Project supports the government of Tanzania by ensuring that we support sustainable seedling by ensuring that Tanzania is also able to produce a new type of markets and food sources.
Southern Africa Youth Project Sustainable Development Goal 3 good health

Southern Africa Youth Project has been in the Health and Welfare space since its existence in 2005. Therefore working with national, provincial and district governments in Tanzania has enabled us to learn more lessons in which we extend the support to other organisations and departments.

Our involvement with the Government of Tanzania includes:

  • Southern Africa Youth Project supports the government of Tanzania in reducing the national maternal mortality (death) rate to less than 70 on 100 000 live births.
  • Southern Africa Youth Project supports the government of Tanzania in ending preventable mortality of babies under the age of 5 years. Ensuring that Tanzania reduces its death rates to 12 per 1 000 children born and to at least on every 1 000 have 25 deaths.
  • Supporting the government of Tanzania Southern Africa Youth Project aims to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic, Tuberculosis, Malaria and other tropical diseases that will affect children, youth and women.
  • Ensuring that by 2020 the Government of Tanzania Southern Africa Youth Project aims to end premature death of babies from non-communicable disease.
  • Southern Africa Youth Project strengthens support of Government of Tanzania in the prevention and treatment of substance abuse, drugs, and the harmful use of substance abuses.
  • Supporting the government department of Tanzania to reduce the number of death into half from the road accidents.
  • By 2030, ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health-care services, including for family planning, information and education, and the integration of reproductive health into national strategies and programmes.

  • Supporting the government department of Tanzania to Achieve universal health coverage, including financial risk protection, access to quality essential health-care services and access to safe, effective, quality and affordable essential medicines and vaccines for all.

  • Supporting the government department of Tanzania to By 2030, substantially reduce the number of deaths and illnesses from hazardous chemicals and air, water and soil pollution and contamination.

  • Supporting the government department of Tanzania to Strengthen the implementation of the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control in all countries, as appropriate.

  • Supporting the government department of Tanzania to support the research and development of vaccines and medicines for the communicable and non-communicable diseases that primarily affect developing countries, provide access to affordable essential medicines and vaccines, in accordance with the Doha Declaration on the TRIPS Agreement and Public Health, which affirms the right of developing countries to use to the full the provisions in the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights regarding flexibilities to protect public health, and, in particular, provide access to medicines for all.

  • Supporting the government department of Tanzania to Substantially increase health financing and the recruitment, development, training and retention of the health workforce in developing countries, especially in the least developed countries and small island developing States.

  • Supporting the government department of Tanzania to Strengthen the capacity of all countries, in particular developing countries, for early warning, risk reduction and management of national and global health risks.

  • Supporting the government department of Tanzania to By 2030, ensure that all girls and boys complete free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education leading to relevant and Goal-4 effective learning outcomes
  • Supporting the government department of Tanzania to By 2030, ensure that all girls and boys have access to quality early childhood development, care and preprimary education so that they are ready for primary education
  • Supporting the government department of Tanzania to By 2030, ensure equal access for all women and men to affordable and quality technical, vocational and tertiary education, including university
  • Supporting the government department of Tanzania to By 2030, substantially increase the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship

  • Supporting the government department of Tanzania to Recognize and value unpaid care and domestic work through the provision of public services, infrastructure and social protection policies and the promotion of shared responsibility within the household and the family as nationally appropriate
